Top Indian pro golfer Jyoti Randhawa spent off-time during a recent tour, the Singha Thailand Open, scuba diving.

“I played marvelous golf the last two days. To shoot five under and without any bogeys was good. I am very happy. Although Rhys played great today. He kept me on my toes and kept making birdies. I had to make birdies to stay ahead. He actually pushed me to push myself to score better,” he added.

After the matches during the days of the tournament, Jyoti spent his free time scuba diving and said it had helped him with his game.

“I need to be next to an ocean to win. The key was to relax and I didn’t let the pressure get to me. My family was here and I enjoyed it.”

Randhawa won the King’s Cup in the tournament.

Check out this cool video of scuba divers in Square Lake, Minnesota. The video chronicles the effort in making a hole in the ice for scuba divers to enter the water. Next, a tent is set up around the hole and then the divers suit up and JUMP IN THE FRIGID WATER! I’m no fan of cold water diving so this isn’t for me!

Defenders of Wildlife have a campaign to encourage the National Marine Fisheries Service to stop longline fishing. Longline fishing kills and injures sea turtles and countless other marine life. Click here to save sea turtles and stop longline fishing.

Enjoy this video of scuba diving with a sea turtle from julesnene’s photostream on Flickr. I’ve only seen a sea turtle while diving once, in Egypt, and it was amazing. I hope to see many more on future scuba dives.
